We had been doing research on dog breeds and breeders for about 6-8months prior to deciding
to buy from the Bells. Betsy ensured that the purchasing experience was enjoyable and painless
- answering any question promptly and professionally (regardless of how basic the question
may have been). At no point in time did I feel confused as far as what the next step was nor did
I ever feel out of the loop. She even went the extra mile to send us random photos of Charlie’s
puppy life up until the day we arrived. You can tell that the family takes their dogs (and by
extension, the dog’s health and happiness) very seriously just by seeing how well the pups are
taken care of, their overall demeanor towards people, and cleanliness. On pick up day for
Charlie, Betsy graciously welcomed us into their home to answer any final questions, give a
safe space for Charlie to become familiar with his new parents (while still in a familiar
environment),had all of his medical and historical documentation organized in a convenient take
home package and answered any remaining questions we had.
Since that fateful day, Charlie has become an integral part of our family. He exemplifies his
ability to play appropriately with other dogs based on their size. For example, we have an older
dog in our home already who is 18lbs (Charlie being ~45 lbs at 6mo) and he is able to expertly
hold back his strength to play at a level that suits the other dog’s strength and willingness. He
has completed and passed exams for two training classes already as well as aced his American
Kennel Club (AKC) S.T.A.R. Puppy certification test with flying colors! The dog trainers that we
partner with consistently comment how Charlie has an ideal demeanor for an active to
semi-active family - meaning, he is able to keep up with you at your speed, whether that be
hiking, walking nature trails, biking, playing at the dog park for an hour, (etc.).
The speed at which he can pick up new ideas is both surprising at times and always satisfying.
Charlie has an innate drive to want to learn more, an unending curiosity, and a level of
intelligence to retain what he has learned after a short time with consistent short bursts of
practice (e.g. 15 min daily for a week). He interacts incredibly well with other dogs in social
situations, never exhibiting aggressive behaviours towards animals or humans.
Our family has truly enjoyed every day that we get to spend with Charlie and sincerely look
forward to having a long and healthy life with him at our side. We are eternally grateful to Mid Missouri Bernedoodle, Betsy and her family for providing us the opportunity to include Charlie in our lives as well as making the process to getting to that point as seamless and enjoyable as possible. I (and will continue
to do so) recommend her to friends, family and coworkers that are serious about having a dog
that will not only improve their lives, but serve as a life partner through thick and thin.

"Finding a puppy can be a stressful experience but when you find the right breeder, the process becomes a breeze. That was what it felt like when we met Betsy and her family. She is not only the nicest woman we have ever met but we were also amazed by how professional and knowledgeable she was. When our dog Hank was diagnosed with a heart condition in 2018 and we were told our years with him would be limited. This was devastating news for my husband and I, but we knew we would continue loving and providing him with the best life possible. After several discussions, my husband and I decided that finding Hank a brother would be the perfect solution. The hunt was on, we knew we wanted another breed that was mixed with poodle. Not only because it eliminates shedding, but also because of their intelligence and faithfulness to their family. Although my husband and I had only ever had smaller breeds, we decided it was time for a change and began researching larger breeds.In the Summer of 2020, I discovered a local family, the Bells, were going to have a litter of Bernedoodles. We had never heard of this breed. While researching the Bernedoodle, we discovered everything we were looking for; intelligent, affectionate, gentle, and loyal. I reached out to the Bells and told them my husband and I were interested in purchasing one, and asked if we could look at the litter. The Bell family was extremely welcoming and invited us to come as long and as often as we wanted. The litter was just as precious in-person as they were in the pictures that were sent to us, but my eyes immediately fell in love with a little black puppy with four white paws. After our visit we went back home to discuss a little further, but we quickly realized that this puppy would be the perfect addition to our family. We brought Harold home and he immediately developed a bond with his brother, Hank. When they weren’t playing tug-of-war, they were snuggled up next to each other among their pillows and blankets. Harold quickly surpassed Hank in weight and overall size, but that has never affected their relationship. Harold is very sweet and observant, and notices when Hank needs a break from playing. His intelligence made potty-training a breeze and he quickly learned tricks such as; “sit” and “shake”. Harold enjoys cuddling, long walks, other animals, and humans of all ages. He is very affectionate and protective, as he finds comfort in knowing where you are at all times. Harold was easily kennel trained and uses it as his “safe space”, we often find him in there even when we’re home. While on walks, it is a rare occurrence for us to not receive a compliment of some sort regarding his coloring and/or gait. We are extremely grateful for all the help that the Bell family and Mid Missouri Bernedoodle provided us while making this decision, and we could not be happier with our purchase. Harold was the missing piece to our family that we didn’t know we needed.
